Giulia Canton

Associate Director at Enevate

Giulia Canton has over 8 years of work experience in the fields of C-MEMS, micro/nano-manufacturing, sensor and biosensors devices. Giulia began their career in 2010 as a PhD Candidate at the University of California, Irvine, where they developed a new nano-manufacturing technology, electro-mechanical spinning, for the fabrication of individually patterned polymeric and carbon nanofibers. Giulia also gained experience in clean room processes, polymer and carbon materials, photolithography, SEM, FIB, and TEM.

In 2013, Giulia joined Enevate Corporation, where they held various roles, including Associate Director, Senior Manager - Process Engineering, Senior Staff Process Engineer III, and Senior Scientist/Process Engineer. In this role, Giulia introduced, developed, and established a unique and proprietary anode manufacturing process from R&D to manufacturing scale, resulting in a 1000x production rate increase, improved quality, and enhanced performance. As a Technical Intern, Giulia was also responsible for technology and manufacturing development of innovative silicon-based Lithium-Ion batteries for mobile phone applications.

Giulia Canton obtained a PhD in Materials and Manufacturing Technology from UC Irvine between 2010 and 2014. Giulia also attended the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology in 2011, studying Bio-NanoTechnology. Between 2004 and 2009, Giulia Canton studied Engineering and Management at Università degli Studi di Padova, receiving a BS and MS. In 2006, they attended the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, completing the International Summer Program in Management (ISPM) in Business Management.
