Ned Coten has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Ned currently serves as the CEO of EngageRM, where they are responsible for strategic planning, business operations, sales, and marketing. Ned is also the Chair of the Swinburne Sport Innovation Research Group at Swinburne University of Technology, providing leadership and guiding innovation research in the sports sector. Additionally, they are the Advisory Board Chair for both The Contenders, a strategic brand agency, and refbook, an online referee and umpire management platform. Ned is a Director for the Self Storage Association of Australasia, overseeing the self-storage industry in Australia and New Zealand. Ned co-founded and owns City West Storage, a drive-up self-storage facility, and Sunshine Self Storage, providing secure and accessible storage in Melbourne. Ned has also served as a mentor at Startupbootcamp and is the Director of Athletes Game Plan, supporting athletes in their post-playing career transition. Furthermore, they have been involved in various business ventures and property developments through their company, Coten Investments Pty. Ltd.

Ned Coten's education history includes a Bachelor of Education degree in Industrial Arts from Curtin University, completed from 1984 to 1988. Ned also obtained a Higher School Certificate from Narrogin Senior High School from 1977 to 1981. In terms of post-graduate education, Ned earned an MBA from UNSW in Commerce and Marketing from 1997 to 2005. Ned also completed a Graduate Management Diploma in Business Strategy from AGSM @ UNSW Business School from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they pursued a Graduate Management degree in MBA from AGSM @ UNSW Business School from 2005 to 2005. Ned also participated in a short course on The not-for-profit Director at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2020. Lastly, they engaged in a course on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at KPI in 2012.
