Simphiwe Kunene

Simphiwe Kunene is an experienced professional in the engineering and maintenance sectors with a robust background in management and technical roles. Currently serving as the Regional Maintenance Manager at Engen since June 2014, responsibilities have included overseeing physical maintenance operations, managing third-party contractors, and ensuring adherence to HSEQ policies. Previous positions at Engen encompassed project management and engineering technician roles. Prior experience includes a mechanical engineering traineeship at H&R South Africa, focusing on the maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant, and a role as a Time Study Officer at SABMiller, where time efficiency in warehouse distribution was optimized. Simphiwe holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Durban University of Technology, as well as a Management Development Programme certification from Stellenbosch Business School.
