Simon Ashforth

Simon Ashforth has a wealth of experience in the field of physics. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Lab Demonstrator and Tutor at the University of Auckland's Department of Physics, supervising students in their practical laboratory component in courses such as Physics 91F, 92F, 120, and 160. During this time, they also completed their PhD at The Photon Factory, a joint research centre in the School of Chemical Sciences and the Department of Physics at the University of Auckland, focusing on using ultrafast laser pulses for applications in orthopaedic surgery. In 2017, they joined Engender Technologies Limited, where they have held the roles of Chief Operating Officer, Research and Development Manager, Project Leader, and Photonics Team Leader.

Simon Ashforth has obtained three degrees from The University of Auckland. From 2008 to 2012, they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Medical Physics and Imaging Technology. From 2013 to 2014, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry. Finally, from 2014 to 2019, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics.
