Tim Lu

Co-Founder and Board Member at Engine Biosciences

Tim Lu has a long and varied career in the biosciences. Tim started as the Founder and Board Member at Corvium in 2008, then moved on to become an Assistant Professor and then an Associate Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2010 to 2014. In 2014, they Co-Founded Winged Concepts, Synlogic, Inc., and Eligo Biosciences. Tim also Co-Founded Engine Biosciences in the same year and served as Co-Founder and Board Member. In 2017, they Co-Founded Tango Therapeutics and BiomX, and became a Scientific Advisor at AmpliPhi Biosciences. Finally, they are currently serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Senti Biosciences.

Tim Lu's education history includes a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Harvard University (2008-2010), a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Harvard Medical School (2008-2010), a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2003-2007), a Bachelor of Science (S.B.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1999-2003), and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1999-2003). Tim also attended National Experimental High School and Taipei American School.
