Rowan Smith

Rowan Smith is a Chemical Engineering student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, expected to graduate in 2026. Experience includes a position as a Microelectronics Process Engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, focusing on surface chemistry for quantum semiconductors, and work as an Undergraduate Researcher at Zha Lab, manipulating chromoproteins for sustainable dyes. Rowan has also held various roles in the community, including a Legislative Intern at the U.S. House of Representatives, Outdoor Educator and Waterfront Manager at Burgundy Center for Wildlife Studies, and Lifeguard positions at both Army Navy Country Club and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In addition, Rowan served as a Resident Assistant and Student Orientation Mentor at The Madeira School, alongside roles as an Engineering Ambassador and Outreach Coordinator, facilitating educational programs for younger students and community events.
