THERE WAS ONCE...

A lad and a lassie. Romy, our lassie, had spent five years learning English in the most authentic manner a person can, namely, living in Australia. Ryan, the lad of our story, was born in the land down under, but moved to Germany with a desire to spread his native language in the most natural and fun way possible. 

Unfortunately, our Aussie Ryan found no market for his holistic approach to communication and learning the English language. Per usual, Romy was way ahead of Ryan and knew that the way English was being taught in Germany was not how people learn English in the real world. 

AND SO ENGLISCHALTERNATIV WAS BORN...

In 2015 Romy and Ryan founded EnglischAlternativ in a one-room flat located in a small industrial part of Chemnitz. In the beginning there were only a few brave enough to give this small, unknown institute a chance. Yet, as word of Ryan and Romy's passion for service, building relationships, and teaching English in a fun and innovative manner spread, the little school grew. 

Only a short time later EnglischAlternativ found its new home in Zwickau, where it gained some amazing, far larger spaces to teach and learn. Staying true to our humble roots, however, we still provide in-house training in Chemnitz and the Erzgebirge! Slowly but surely the team grew large with like-minded people and committed trainers. Through word of mouth alone the school's reach grew so that it now serves companies, school students, countless individuals, and groups.
