Marco Maresca is an R&D Technologist specializing in biotechnological research for the production of biochemicals and biofuels through fermentation. Currently, they are involved in the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) by fermentation. Previously, Marco contributed to the first production of bio-butadiene from renewable raw materials between 2015 and 2016. Their work has been recognized, with the bio-butadiene technology winning the Environmental Achievement of the Year at the “Tire Technology International Awards for Excellence and Innovation” in February 2017. Marco holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Università degli Studi di Milano.
