Roger Smith is a seasoned professional in well engineering with significant experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Well Engineering Team Lead at Eni, Roger leads projects related to the Seagull HPHT subsea development and Carbon Capture initiatives. Prior to this, Roger held similar leadership positions at Neptune Energy, overseeing the Seagull HPHT subsea development. Roger’s extensive background includes a role as Senior Drilling Engineer at CNOOC International, where responsibilities included leading drilling operations in central North Sea subsea development and West of Shetland projects. Earlier in the career, Roger was a Drilling Engineer at NEXEN Petroleum U.K. Limited and spent over a decade at Schlumberger in various engineering roles, contributing to over 80 wells. Roger holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Robert Gordon University.
