David Lauffer

Research Fellow at Enko

David Lauffer has been working in the field of medicinal chemistry since 1982. David began their career at Anaquest Pharmaceuticals as a Medicinal Chemist, where they conducted research on non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockers and analgesics. In 1987, they moved to Warner-Lambert as a Senior Associate Chemist, where they were involved in drug discovery and optimization of Muscarinic agonist for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. In 1992, they joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a Research Fellow and Staff Investigator/Senior Staff Investigator. During this time, they were the medicinal chemistry leader for three oncology projects, resulting in the nomination of VX-140 and 198 as pre-clinical candidates, and VX-984 as a lead optimization project. In 2017, they became the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at CrowdOut Therapeutics. Currently, they are a Research Fellow at Enko.

David Lauffer holds a Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Thiel College.
