Lisa Butler has worked for a variety of companies since 1994. Lisa began their career as a Volunteer for Connecticut River Watch, followed by an Assistant Teacher at Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center in 1997. In 1996, they became a Research Associate at Dekalb Genetics. From 2000 to 2017, Lisa held two roles at Monsanto: Corn Transformation Workflow Manager and Research Associate. In 2017, they began working as a Shipping and Receiving at Components for Manufacturing. In 2018, Lisa volunteered at Mystic Aquarium. In 2019, they became an Associate at Amgen, and in 2020 they started their current role as a Lab/Data Manager at Enko. Additionally, Lisa has been a Girl Scout Leader at Girl Scouts of America since 2016.

Lisa Butler attended Westminster School from an unknown start year to an unknown end year. Lisa then attended Rollins College from 1989 to 1990, studying Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Lisa then attended Connecticut College from 1990 to 1993, earning a BA in Biology. Finally, they attended the University of New Haven, earning a Master's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2018.
