John Jost

John Jost is an accomplished physicist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in optical and quantum technologies. As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Enlightra since January 2021, John Jost leads the development of multichannel lasers designed for efficient optical data transmission. Previously, John Jost founded MicroR Systems, which rebranded to Enlightra, focusing on optical microresonators for various laser applications. John Jost's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where research centered on quantum mechanics and optical technology. Notable positions also include Research Scientist at EPFL, Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Research Assistant at JILA, contributing to advancements in trapped ion quantum computation and optical frequency combs.
