Jarmo Solonen

Jarmo Solonen has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Jarmo started their career at Tamrock Oy (now Sandvik Mining and Construction) as a mechanic, specializing in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric assemblies. Jarmo worked there during their vacations from TAMK for four years.

In 2000, Jarmo joined Voimalaite Oy as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Jarmo was responsible for mechanical design, production and supply management of spare parts, as well as external contacts with customers and sub-contractors. Jarmo also managed deliveries, site transportation, and assemblies of stationary and mobile diesel generator units.

From 2004 to 2005, Jarmo worked as a Product Development Engineer at Saimatec Engineering Oy. Their responsibilities included managing and designing product development projects from sketch to proto testing. Jarmo supervised manufacturing and assembly, conducted test drives of completed prototypes, and resolved troubleshooting, repair, and improvement issues.

Jarmo joined Raumaster Paper Oy in 2006 as a Mechanical Design Engineer, specializing in design and product development for conveyors of paper rolls. Jarmo also worked on steering devices and geometry for mobile container handling machines in TTS Liftec Oy as a Chief Engineer.

In 2007, Jarmo served as a Mechanical Design Engineer at TTS Liftec OY, where they focused on mechanical design projects.

In 2010, Jarmo joined Valmet Technologies Oy as an Inspection/Product Development Engineer. Jarmo has been working there to the present day. Their responsibilities include mechanical final inspections, solving mechanical problems at sites, providing technical support for burners, and working on special design projects and product development.

Throughout their career, Jarmo has demonstrated a strong background in mechanical design, product development, troubleshooting, and project management.

Jarmo Solonen attended Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) from 1994 to 1999, where they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Vehicle and Mobile Machine Technology. In 2015, they also studied at the University of Alicante for a year, focusing on Spanish language.
