Ciaran Gaffney began a career in instrumentation as a Sales Assistant at Irvine Interiors from October 2009 to September 2012, before pursuing an apprenticeship with OPITO from September 2012 to August 2016, where foundational skills in instrumentation, measurement, and control were acquired, complemented by on-site training with BP at Sullom Voe Terminal. Following the apprenticeship, Gaffney worked as a Control and Instrument Technician at ENGIE from August 2016 to August 2019, focusing on maintenance at Sullom Voe Power Station. Currently, Gaffney is an Instrument Technician at EnQuest, responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of instrumentation and control systems at Sullom Voe Terminal.
