Michael Thomson

Michael Thomson is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in managing information technology and cyber operations across various sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Information Technology at EnQuest since April 2019, Michael is responsible for IT strategy and the development of a comprehensive five-year roadmap to align with evolving business needs. Previous roles include IT Operations Manager and Infrastructure Lead at CNOOC Nexen, where Michael oversaw UK infrastructure operations and security, and Service Delivery Manager at Getronics and Subsea 7, focusing on global IT support and performance management. Michael's technical expertise began at Shell Services International, where progression from Desktop Engineer to Team Leader established a strong foundation in team leadership and IT infrastructure management. Michael holds a degree in IT Management from Robert Gordons University.
