Eric Simone has diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biomedical research fields. Eric is currently the Vice President of CMC at Ensem Therapeutics starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Agios Pharmaceuticals from 2015 to 2023, where they held various roles including Senior Director, Director, and CMC Associate Director. Eric also has experience at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from 2009 to 2015, serving as the CMC Lead for Influenza and a Scientist II. Earlier in their career, Eric worked as a Polymer and Drug Delivery Scientist at the Institute for Translational Medicine and Advanced Therapeutics from 2004 to 2009. Before that, they were a Principal Investigator at the BioMEMS and Single Molecule Dynamics Lab from 2003 to 2004 and a Research Assistant at the Orthopedic Bioinstrumentation Laboratory in 2002.
Eric Simone completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University from 2000 to 2004. Eric then pursued a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they went on to complete a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Radiology and nuclear imaging at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2009.
