Daniel Abbott has over 20 years of work experience in the IT field. From 1995 to 2000, they worked at McLeodUSA as a Desktop Supervisor, responsible for supervising full systems support of internal sales floor servers and PC workstations. Daniel then moved to Crystal Group, Inc. in 2000, where they worked as an IT Manager, responsible for being the point of contact between all users of the company and the internal IT department. In 2001, they began working at Integrated DNA Technologies as a Technology Inventory Specialist, where they developed an inventory structure and system for department hardware and software. From 2003 to 2004, they worked at RuffaloCODY as a Technical Support Representative, providing software support to clients via remote control services. Daniel then moved to 2nd Story Software in 2004, where they worked as a Senior Technical Support Supervisor. In 2007, they began working at Kleffmann North America as a Chief Operating Officer. Finally, in 2015, they began working at Enseva as a Cloud Systems Engineer, where they developed, designed, and supported internal and external cloud systems for both on-site and off-site customers.

Daniel Abbott's education history includes a High School Diploma from Clinton High School, obtained in 1990. Daniel then attended Clinton Community College, where they received an Associate of Arts in Computer Science in 1992. After that, they attended the University of Iowa, where they received a Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science, Mathematics and Business Administration in 2000. Additionally, they obtained an A+ certification.
