Gregory Travis has a diverse and extensive work experience. Gregory is currently working as a Software Engineer at Enso since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at ListenFirst from 2017 to 2022 as a Principal Engineer, where they implemented and maintained high-efficiency storage systems on top of AWS cloud products and reduced cloud costs for a data warehouse.
Before that, Gregory worked at the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 2016 as a Mobile Engineer, where they were the principal architect and developer for a mobile game and implemented a serverless backend framework. Gregory also worked at Google from 2007 to 2016, where they held the positions of Tech Lead and Senior Software Engineer. During their time at Google, they worked on diverse areas such as 3D graphics, cloud, e-commerce, legal applications, and large-scale infrastructure. Gregory also led the Live Case team through a major international launch.
Gregory's career started in 1992 at Looking Glass Studio, where they served as the Lead Software Engineer for the flight simulator Flight Unlimited. Gregory managed a team of 12 programmers and designed and implemented a 3D VR-style interface. Gregory then worked as a Software Engineer at EarthWeb from 1995 to 1997, where they designed and implemented real-time data delivery systems and Java-based web site generation systems.
Gregory also worked as a Vice President of Technology Development at DynamicLogic Inc. from 2003 to 2007. In this role, they supervised development processes for internal and client-facing tools and products and participated in the development of statistics software, high-speed statistics database, web-based user interface, and online ad tracking.
Additionally, Gregory has prior experience as an Independent Software Consultant, providing software engineering and architecture services to various clients including American Museum of Natural History, Children's Television Workshop/Sesame Workshop, and Point Infinity/xDSL.com.
Gregory Travis attended Oberlin College from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science.
