James Dunkerley

James Dunkerley's work experience begins in 1999 at Swiss Life, where they worked in the Office Services department during university holidays. Their responsibilities included sorting mail and general office maintenance, as well as developing computerized tools for the department.

In 2001, Dunkerley joined JWM Partners (UK) Ltd as a Developer and eventually became the Lead Developer. James was responsible for managing the UK IS team, developing various tools, and creating a real-time data distribution system using C# and third-party APIs.

From 2009 to 2015, Dunkerley worked at Horizon Asset as a Senior Developer, Software Architect, and eventually became the Lead Developer/Head of Development. James oversaw the development team in London, designed core infrastructure and tools, and collaborated with senior leaders across all three offices.

In 2015, Dunkerley joined Scott Logic as a Lead Developer, where they helped establish the London office and led a Scrum team in delivering a microservices-based OData data fabric. James later became a Technical Architect, remaining hands-on with client projects and contributing to the company's technology direction as a member of the Technology Leadership Group.

Their most recent work experience is with Enso, where they serve as the Services/Libraries Lead. Dunkerley manages the libraries team, oversees the design and implementation of APIs, and defines backlogs for all backend teams. James works primarily with Java, Enso's language, and JavaScript.

James Dunkerley completed their Bachelor's degree at Tonbridge School from 1993 to 1998. James then pursued further education at the University of Cambridge, where they earned a Master's degree in Mathematics from 1998 to 2001.

In addition to their academic qualifications, James Dunkerley has obtained several certifications. James completed a course in Machine Learning from Coursera in February 2017. James also gained expertise in Alteryx Designer, earning certifications in Alteryx Designer Advanced in January 2018, Alteryx Designer Core in October 2017 and Alteryx Designer Expert in October 2018. Furthermore, they achieved AWS certifications, including AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA) in March 2019 and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) in November 2018.
