Additionally, Steve worked at Network Centric Solutions as a Senior Java Consultant, where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of a Java EE web application for a multinational bank. Steve used servlets, JSPs, taglibs, and an Oracle 9i database in their work.

Steve began their career at Box UK as a Systems Developer, where they developed Java/XML-based applications and components for a browser-based content management system.

Steve also worked as a Research Associate at Cardiff University, where they managed a software development and electronic marketing project, and as a Production Editor at the Institute of Physics Publishing, where they managed the production of online journals and performed editing and layout tasks.
