James Bailey has over 25 years of work experience in the maritime industry. James began their career in 1995 as a Night Dispatcher for Vane Line Bunkering. In 1996, they moved on to become a Merchant Mariner for Hvide Marine. In 1994, they were an Able Seaman for Dyn Corp. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as an Operations Supervisor for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics. From 2001 to 2009, they held the roles of General Manager and Operations Manager for Federal Marine Terminals, Inc. From 2009 to 2015, they were Terminal Manager for PCI of Virginia, LLC. In 2015, they joined Port Contractors, Inc. and held the roles of Senior Manager, Safety & Equipment and Senior Manager, Safety & Quality Control. James is currently Corporate Safety Director for Enstructure LLC.

James Bailey attended Norfolk Collegiate School from 1984 to 1990. James then obtained a BS in Marine Transportation from Maine Maritime Academy between 1990 and 1994. In 2004 and 2006, they earned an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University - School of Business. Additionally, they obtained certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, including a Safety Management Specialist in 2017, an Associate Safety Professional in 2018, and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in 2020.
