David Abbate is an accomplished electrical engineer with extensive experience in relay protection design and electrical systems development. Currently serving as Substation Relay Engineering Design Supervisor and previously as Senior Electrical Engineer at Entergy since May 2018, David specializes in transmission substation relay protection across various generation sources. Prior to that, David held the position of Senior Electrical Engineer at Textron, focusing on technical designs for advanced electrical systems. Experience also includes serving as an Electrical Engineer at Hiller Systems, Inc., where marine fire detection systems were designed, and at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where software testing and process improvement were key responsibilities. David Abbate earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans.
