Gabriele Bartolini

Gabriele Bartolini has extensive work experience in the field of database management and cloud-native computing. Gabriele started their career in 2006 as a Programmer at Comune di Prato, where they were responsible for developing open-source web applications and serving as a lead data warehouse engineer. In 2008, they joined 2ndQuadrant Italia as a Managing Director and Principal Consultant, specializing in high-performance database solutions using PostgreSQL. Gabriele also founded the Italian PostgreSQL Users Group and PostgreSQL Europe, aiming to promote the PostgreSQL RDBMS in Italy and Europe, respectively.

In 2020, Gabriele became the VP of Cloud Native at EDB, leading the organization's Cloud Native initiative and achieving the distinction of being the first Kubernetes Certified Service Provider for PostgreSQL. Gabriele also developed the Cloud Native PostgreSQL Kubernetes operator. In the same year, they joined CloudNativePG as a Maintainer.

Gabriele's most recent role is as an Ambassador for the Data on Kubernetes Community, starting in 2023. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong leadership skills, achieved revenue growth, and maintained high customer satisfaction scores.

Gabriele Bartolini obtained a High School Diploma in Accounting and Computer Programming from Istituto Tecnico Commerciale Paolo Dagomari from 1989 to 1994. From 1994 to 2002, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics and Information Technology at Università degli Studi di Firenze. In 2001, Gabriele attended Monash University for Information Technology studies. Later, from 2015 to 2016, they obtained a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School.
