Liz Barker

Development Advisor

Liz Barker has served as a Liberal Democrat Member of the House of Lords since 1999, holding various spokesperson roles including Voluntary Sector and Social Enterprise, LGBT+, and Health. Appointed in 2015 as the Spokesperson for the Voluntary Sector, Barker has been an advocate for LGBT+ rights, publicly coming out during the debate on the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill in 2013. Additionally, Barker founded Third Sector Business in 2007, providing consultancy services focused on governance and relations between third sector organizations and businesses. Experience includes a significant tenure at Age UK, where responsibilities ranged from Regional Field Officer to Grants Unit Manager. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Southampton.
