Christopher Finlay is the founder and CEO of Middleburg Communities, a fully integrated investment, development and management firm specializing in quality multifamily apartment communities in high-growth markets in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States. They founded Mission Residential and served as Managing Principal from 2004 to 2012, with offices in Fairfax and Chantilly, Virginia, and an acquisition portfolio across Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah totaling over $1 billion. Earlier in their career, they held roles in real estate capital markets at First Union National Bank (1996–1998) and in KPMG Peat Marwick's Structured Finance Group (1995–1996). They are the founder and chairman of Entryway (formerly Shelters to Shutters), a national nonprofit providing housing and employment opportunities to individuals experiencing homelessness since 2014. They earned a BS in Accounting from the University of South Carolina (1992–1995).
