Mathias Schläffer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Mathias started their career in 2006 as a Physiotherapist at the School of Physiotherapy Augsburg & PhysioTeam, where they worked until 2011. In 2014, they completed an internship at the German Institute for Urban Affairs.

In 2015, Mathias joined the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as a Researcher & PHD Student, a role they held until 2016. Mathias then transitioned to a career in consulting, working at BearingPoint from 2017 to 2018 as a Management Analyst and Business Consultant.

In 2019, Mathias joined EnterCard Group AB as an Analyst, where they worked until 2019. Mathias then joined Unacast in 2020 as a Data Scientist, responsible for implementing core algorithms and building novel aggregated products using GPS data. As a Senior Data Scientist at Unacast, they led a team of 4 and developed new products using Google Cloud, Apache Airflow, and Jupyter or Google Colab notebooks. Their projects at Unacast included correcting volatile supply of GPS data, describing migration flows based on GPS data, and detecting fraudulent GPS data.

In 2023, Mathias's career continued to progress as they joined Easee as a Senior Data Scientist, and later moved to Entur AS as a Data Scientist.

Mathias Schläffer completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 2011 to 2014. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Spatial-, Transport- and Environmental Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2014 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Coursera in July 2018 and received training in Learning ArcGIS Desktop from Esri. Mathias also obtained a certification as a SCRUM master (PSM I) from Scrum.org.
