Sam Katkar

Sam Katkar is a seasoned structural engineering professional currently serving as Auckland Structural Manager at Envelope since October 2024. Prior to this role, Sam held multiple positions at Mitchell Vranjes - Structural Engineers from November 2019 to October 2024, including Technical Leader, where mentorship and training of engineers were primary responsibilities. Sam's earlier experience includes positions as a Senior Structural Engineer and Structural Engineer, focusing on the design and detailing of reinforced concrete buildings. Before joining Mitchell Vranjes, Sam worked at Harrison Grierson as a Structural Engineer from June 2016 to November 2019, specializing in new builds, seismic assessments, and advanced modelling techniques. Sam's career began at Black & Veatch as a Graduate Civil Engineer, contributing to structural analysis in telecommunications. Sam holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Management and Earthquake Engineering from the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pune.
