Jim Hurt

Jim Hurt is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as Emeritus VP of Core Technology at Enventive Engineering since 2002, Jim previously held the position of VP of Core Technology at the same company. Jim contributed as a Technical Fellow at SDRC from 1992 to 2001 and was the VP of R&D at DigiLore, Inc. from 2001 to 2006. Jim's early career included partnership at Hardy, Hurt and Coin and senior engineering roles at Cognition and Deere and Company. Notably, Jim managed combat simulation projects for the US Army Rodman Laboratories, focusing on advanced weapon systems. Educationally, Jim earned a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, an MS in Engineering Mechanics, and a BSME in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Iowa. Additionally, Jim volunteered at Better Investing from 1997 until August 2024.
