Laboratory Technical Supervisor at EnviroScience

Alex Tite is the Laboratory Technical Supervisor and has been with EnviroScience, Inc. since 2015. Alex joined the team as a laboratory technician and has moved into the supervisor position as of July 2021. In this role, Alex is responsible for ensuring all aspects of services performed by laboratory personnel meet rigorous standards for quality assurance and quality control, and that bioassay tests are conducted in accordance with the appropriate State and Federal environmental regulations. She is also responsible for overseeing proficiency testing and the annual DMR QA tests that are required by State and Federal certifying agencies.

Alex graduated from Kent State University in 2014 with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and a minor in Geography. Her education has led her to pursue a career in environmental biology and the laboratory is a great fit. The laboratory division focuses mostly on toxicity testing, specializing in National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) evaluations as well as doing full scale toxicity evaluations (TIE/TRE). Since Alex been a part of the ES team, she has had the opportunity to work on a couple of interesting projects as well, including the Dredged Sediment Toxicity and Bioaccumulation Tests (May-June 2015) and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Sediment Toxicity Tests (July-August 2018). While working at EnviroScience Alex has also received certification through OEPA to conduct ELISA Immunoassay Testing for Cyanotoxin detection.
