David Pyles

David Pyles is a geologist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Chief Geologist and Geological Advisor at EOG Resources since October 2014, David previously held academic and consulting roles, including Research Professor and Director of the Chevron Center of Research Excellence at Colorado School of Mines from March 2006 to October 2014, and President of Boulder Stratigraphics LLC, where David provided consulting services specializing in various geological aspects. Prior to these roles, David worked as a Research Associate at the Bureau of Economic Geology from August 2004 to March 2006, focusing on reservoir analogs. David Pyles holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master's degree from Colorado School of Mines, and a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Chico.
