Sam Murphy

Geophysical Specialist

Sam Murphy is an experienced geophysical specialist with a robust background in exploration and development across various oil and gas projects. Currently employed at EOG Resources since October 2014, Sam has held multiple roles including Senior Geophysicist, focusing on CCS and O&G exploration, and Geophysical Associate, providing geophysical support and conducting seismic modeling and analysis. Prior to EOG, Sam worked at Halliburton as a Geophysicist and Project Manager managing hydraulic fracture monitoring projects in the Rockies, and at ESG Solutions, where project coordination for hydraulic fracture monitoring spread across Canada, the USA, and China. Sam began professional experience as a Geoscience Intern for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Sam holds a Master of Science in Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines and a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.
