Yu Sun's work experience begins in 2010 as an Intern at SEIOSOFT TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., where they developed a web login interface using Visual Studio 2008 and AJAX technology. In 2011, they interned at AutoBest Information Technology Inc., programming an online order taking system and converting the company's database system. They also worked as a Web Developer at Jiao Tong University International Education Center, updating and maintaining a college enrollment management system. In 2012, Yu Sun worked as a Software Engineer at Eastmoney Information Co., Ltd., developing a stock data manipulation module. They then served as a Software Development Intern at Balatarin, LLC in 2013, where they created a FAQ system and improved user experience. Yu Sun also worked as a Research Assistant at Integrated Media System Center, where they developed software modules for traffic pattern generation. In 2014, they worked as a Technology Intern at CityGrid Media, where they designed and implemented production systems. Additionally, Yu Sun served as a Software Engineer at Facebook, working on the News Feed story data model and API. In 2016, they co-founded InnoVision (formerly RockVR), and in 2018, they co-founded EON, a blockchain game company.

Yu Sun completed a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Yu Sun obtained several certifications. In March 2014, they completed a certification in Java Multithreading from Udemy. In July 2013, they obtained a certification in JavaScript and AJAX from lynda.com. Finally, in August 2015, they completed a certification in Up and Running with OpenGL, also from lynda.com.
