Michael Davis Sr has a diverse work experience in various roles within the religious and educational sectors. Michael is currently serving as the Chief Collaboration Officer at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Memphis City Seminary and as an Adjunct Instructor at Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies. Michael also served as an Associate Pastor at Downtown Church and as an Assistant Pastor at Second Presbyterian Church. Furthermore, they gained practical training and mentoring as a Pastoral Intern at Second Presbyterian Church/Downtown Church. In addition to their religious roles, Michael worked as a Men's Ministry Assistant at Sunshine Ministries Inc, where they provided assistance and mentorship to individuals recovering from addiction. Michael began their professional career as a Financial Representative at Bank Midwest.

Michael Davis Sr pursued their higher education starting in 2006 at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Michael completed a degree in Finance with a focus on Financial Planning in 2008. Following this, they attended Covenant Theological Seminary from 2009 to 2014, where they obtained a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree in Theological and Ministerial Studies.
