David Pye

David Pye is a Lead Research Engineer at Epic Games, where they focus on machine learning applications, particularly in speech, audio, music, text, and natural language processing. Previously, they served as a Text-to-Speech Research Science Manager at Amazon, developing advanced Text-to-Speech systems for Alexa, and as Head of Speech at Speechmatics, leading technical efforts in speech technologies. David has extensive experience in the field, including roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and AT&T, where they worked on various aspects of speech recognition and machine learning. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Manchester and a Master of Philosophy in Computer Speech and Language Processing from the University of Cambridge.
