John Stiles

Principal Engineer, Verse Language

John Stiles is a Principal Software Engineer at Epic Games, where they develop the Verse language for large-scale multiplayer games in Unreal Engine. Previously, they worked at Google as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead for the SkSL/AGSL shader compiler. John has extensive experience in the gaming industry, having served as a lead engineer at Blizzard Entertainment on projects such as the Mac ports of Warcraft III and Diablo II. They began their career as an Intern Software Engineer at Future Point, where they contributed to the Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition project under contract with Blizzard. John holds an education from the University of California, Berkeley.
