Melvin Tan

Melvin Tan is an accomplished animation professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as the Animation Lead for the Marketing Art Team at Epic Games since December 2021, Melvin previously worked as an Animator on the film "Encanto" at Walt Disney Animation Studios. With a long tenure at Blue Sky Studios from June 2004 to March 2021, Melvin held the role of Supervising Animator on projects such as "Nimona," "Ferdinand," and "Ice Age" sequels, contributing significantly to various high-profile animated features and shorts. Additionally, Melvin has shared expertise as an AnimSchool instructor for the Character Performance class and has provided guidance as a thesis advisor for master's candidates at SVA. Melvin holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Arts with a focus on Character Animation from the Academy of Art University, earned between 2000 and 2004.
