Tom Holmes

Distinguished Engineer

Tom Holmes is a distinguished engineer at Epic Games since April 2023, focusing on Unreal Engine 5 and Fortnite. Prior to this role, Tom accumulated over two decades of experience at Microsoft, where contributions included serving as an engine architect at 343 Industries, advancing the Slipspace Engine for Halo Infinite, and leading graphics teams for Halo 4 and Halo 5, both acclaimed for their graphics capabilities. Tom also held positions as systems lead at Turn10, developing Forza Motorsport 3, and graphics lead at Fasa Studio, contributing to Shadowrun and Forza Motorsport 2. Earlier in the career, Tom founded DreamForge, which produced multiple PC titles, and worked as a programmer at Paragon Software Corp, developing licensed games. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
