Simon Elsässer serves as an Assistant/Associate Professor at the Karolinska Institutet in the Department of Medicinal Biochemistry and Biophysics, focusing on Translational Medicine and Chemical Biology since January 2015. In addition, Simon is the Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder of Epigenica, and holds various fellowships and memberships, including being a Fellow in Medicine at Ragnar Söderbergs Stiftelse and a Member of the Global Young Academy. Simon's past experience includes attending the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting and serving as a Herchel Smith Fellow and Junior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, as well as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. Simon obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The Rockefeller University in 2011.
