Nathan Stein

Nathan Stein is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Epirus since March 2023, previously serving as Technical Lead for a Machine Learning Team at a Stealth AI Startup, where expertise in computer vision applied to satellite images was demonstrated. Nathan also worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and Postdoctoral Researcher at Caltech, contributing to the Mars Perseverance and Curiosity Rover teams, focusing on surface properties and hyperspectral imaging. With a PhD in planetary science and extensive experience in remote sensing, Nathan's background includes roles at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Summer Intern and various research positions at Washington University in St. Louis. Nathan's academic credentials comprise MS and PhD degrees in Planetary Science from Caltech and a BA in Physics with Geophysics from Washington University in St. Louis.
