Jeffrey Smith

Jeffrey Smith has extensive work experience in the field of security operations and infrastructure. Jeffrey currently works as a Principal Engineer of Security Operations and Infrastructure at Eptura, where they are responsible for implementing and managing a zero-trust security framework. Prior to this, Jeffrey worked as a Technical Marketing Engineer at Cisco, focusing on the SecureX platform. Jeffrey also has experience as a Cloud Security Engineer at Datica and a Security Transformation Consultant at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Before transitioning into the security field, Jeffrey spent several years at GEICO in various security engineering roles and as a Sales Representative. Jeffrey began their career as an Airman in the United States Air Force.

Jeffrey Smith attended Kirkwood Community College starting in 2011, where they studied Computer Science. Jeffrey also obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in December 2019, CompTIA CySA+ in February 2018, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) in October 2017, and CompTIA Security+ in February 2015. Jeffrey also holds certifications in various security-related fields from institutions such as LinkedIn, CompTIA, and (ISC)².
