Michael Guard has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Michael is currently working as the Head of Clinical Services at EQL since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust from September 2016 to November 2021, where they held the roles of First Contact Practitioner, Highly Specialist MSK Physiotherapist, and Team Lead. From January 2015 to September 2016, they worked as a Senior MSK Physiotherapist at Dartford and Gravesham NHS. Before that, they worked as a Junior Rotational Physiotherapist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust from September 2012 to January 2015. Michael also has experience as an Exercise referral and cardiac rehabilitation specialist instructor at Vision - Redbridge Culture & Leisure from September 2009 to September 2012 and as a Personal Fitness Trainer at Greenwich Leisure LTD from January 2004 to September 2009. Prior to their career in healthcare and fitness, they worked as a Direct Marketing Manager at SUPREME O GLAZE LIMITED from January 2002 to January 2004.

Michael Guard has a diverse education history in the field of physiotherapy. Michael obtained a First class (Hons) BSc degree in physiotherapy from King's College London, which they pursued from 2009 to 2012. In 2016, they completed a MSc Module in Foundation Acupuncture from the University of Hertfordshire, focusing on Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General. Continuing their studies, from 2017 to 2018, Michael undertook a MSc Module in Physiotherapy nMSK Triage, specializing in physiotherapy, at London South Bank University. In 2021, they enrolled in a MSc Module for Advanced physiotherapy practice/extended scope practitioner at Coventry University.
