Alex Barreto

Alex Barreto has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Alex began their career in 1994 as Gerente de Produtos Eletronicos for Banco Itaú-Unibanco. In 1997, they moved to GEAP - Fundação de Seguridade Social as a Senior Systems Analyst. In 1998, they joined the Ministry of External Relations as a Development Lead for the United Nations Development Program Project. From 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer for Macquarie University and The University of Sydney. In 2005, they joined Primus Telecom as a Senior Java Engineer. From 2006 to 2020, they worked at Sensis in various roles, including Integration & ROI Development Manager, Delivery Manager - Program ONE, Acting IT GM for Online Directories, Online Directories Operations Manager, and Search Solutions Development Manager. In 2020, they moved to A Cloud Guru as VP of Engineering, where they led a team of four Directors of Engineering across Australia and the US, scaled up the Engineering team structure from 30 to over 90 people, and introduced the Data Eng team and led the initial build-out of ACG's Data Platform. In 2021, they joined EQL as Head Of Engineering.

Alex Barreto obtained a Master in Computer Software Engineering from Macquarie University between 2002 and 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor in Computer Science from UniCEUB - Centro Universitário de Brasília between 1992 and 1996.
