Steve Chesher

Vice President, Drilling at EQT Corporation

Steve Chesher has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in drilling operations. Steve has held various leadership roles at notable companies throughout their career.

Starting in 2005, Steve worked at Devon Energy, where they began as a Drilling Manager and was later promoted to Vice President of Drilling. In this role, they headed a large drilling organization, overseeing over 40 rigs and more than 200 employees. Their responsibilities included EHS performance, implementing best practices, managing contracts, monitoring costs, budgeting, personnel hiring, and invoice approval. Steve remained with Devon Energy until 2012.

From 2012 to 2013, Steve joined Chesapeake Energy as a Drilling Engineering Manager. Steve was responsible for the drilling operations in the Marcellus Shale, managing up to eight drilling rigs. Steve also ensured regulatory compliance and maintained a strong focus on environmental health and safety performance.

In 2013, Steve moved to Continental Resources, where they served as the Drilling Vice President. Steve oversaw drilling operations in the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province (SCOOP), which involved managing 27 drilling rigs with various well designs. Their organization included drilling managers, engineers, superintendents, field operations, and technicians. Steve held this position until early 2015.

Following their time at Continental Resources, Steve joined Rice Energy as the Vice President of Drilling. Steve held this role from 2015 to 2017, overseeing drilling operations within the company.

In 2018, Steve briefly worked at Jones Energy as the Director of Drilling and Completion. Steve held this position from February to July of that year.

Prior to their most recent position, Steve worked as a Vice President of Drilling at EQT Corporation, starting in 2019. As Vice President, they played a key role in the company's drilling operations.

Currently, Steve describes himself as semi-retired but open to new opportunities.

Steve Chesher attended the University of Oklahoma from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Petroleum Engineering.
