Accessibility Consultant at Equal Entry

Heather Burns has been working in the field of accessibility consulting since 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Support Delivery Manager at Microsoft from October 2013 to December 2017. In that role, they led multiple projects to expand delivery capabilities, requiring reorganization of the team, ramping engineers/managers on new technologies, and coordination with legal/compliance/product group on requirements. Heather also owned Public Sector offerings for support delivery post roll out, and maintained an alignment to business owners within the Service Public Sector team. In addition, they represented the Public Sector customers and team when reactive tools were being modified to drive improvements and reduce any potential impact.

Heather Burns has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cornell University. Heather is also certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Trusted Tester for Web on Windows Certification v5, and by the IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals as a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA), and as a Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS).
