Kim LaRocca has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they are the CTO and Co-Founder of Equal Time, a virtual meeting app powered by AI. As the acting CTO, they are responsible for handling Engineering, Design, and Product, building data visualization dashboards, chrome extensions, and zoom apps.
Prior to Equal Time, Kim worked as a Senior Engineering Manager for New York Public Radio, where they led the design system initiative and was involved in migrating NYPR's websites from Ember to Vue. Kim also created reusable Vue components to improve team efficiency.
Before that, they served as the Lead Front End Developer at iMedia Inc, managing the front end development team and working with clients such as ADP, Kaplan, and Disney. Kim played a key role in improving team efficiency through coding reusable Vue components and training frontend developers on Vue & ES6.
Kim also has experience as a Senior Director of Development at W2O Group, leading the development team for Sentient, the technology arm of the organization. Kim managed development operations across the U.S.
Additionally, Kim has worked as a Senior Lead Web Developer for Toys R Us, where they handled front-end and back-end web development for their eCommerce sites. Kim has freelanced as a Managing Member of 4 Site USA, providing website design, development, and consultation services to professionals and small/medium-sized businesses.
Earlier in their career, they held positions such as Lead Web Developer at Informedia Group and Database Administrator/Web Designer at Schering-Plough. Kim also worked as a Web Designer/Web Developer at Siemens, where they were responsible for designing and rebuilding intranet websites.
Throughout their career, Kim has demonstrated expertise in various technologies such as Vue, Nuxt, Laravel (PHP), and has a strong focus on user experience, search engine optimization, and website marketing.
Kim LaRocca attended Rutgers University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. During the same period, they also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Italian Language and Literature from Rutgers University.
