Equational Applications LLC is a modern technology studio specializing in the development of AI-powered mobile and web applications. Founded by full-stack developer Kurt VanDusen, we focus on building scalable, cross-platform solutions and actively share our journey by "building in public."

What We Do
We provide independent contracting, full-stack software development, and AI consulting services. From crafting intuitive user interfaces to architecting robust cloud backends, we help bring complex ideas to life. Our core focus lies in integrating advanced language models and cloud infrastructure into practical, user-facing applications.

Our Tech Stack
We leverage a cutting-edge, cross-platform stack to ensure high performance and scalability:

AI & Cloud: Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, Anthropic Claude, Firebase, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run.

Frontend: React Native, Expo, React, TypeScript.

Backend & DevOps: Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, EAS, GitHub Actions.

Featured Products & Open Source
We actively develop and maintain several proprietary and open-source projects, including:

Clanker: A cross-platform AI chatbot platform allowing users to create custom characters with persistent memory (LLM Wiki Memory), image generation, and a robust Stripe-gated backend.

Expo LLM Wiki: A cross-platform TypeScript and SQLite library bridging raw conversation logs with structured knowledge bases for long-term LLM memory.

Curated Thoughts: A privacy-first, local second brain built with Tauri, React, and Rust for offline document ingestion and semantic search.

Hybrid AI Integrations: Custom Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) tools, hybrid marketing agents, and seamless auth bridges (e.g., Firebase to Supabase).

Whether you are looking for dedicated full-stack engineering, custom AI chatbot integration, or end-to-end mobile app development, Equational Applications is ready to build with you.
