John Shorten

John Shorten is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in operations and technical leadership within the data center and technology sectors. As Vice President of Operations at Equinix since August 2011, John oversees operations across the Growth and Emerging Markets North Region, which includes Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Poland. Prior roles at Equinix include Senior Director of Operations and Regional Technical Director for both Ireland and Emerging Markets. Before joining Equinix, John served as Chief Technical Officer and Engineering Manager at Data Electronics and held positions at Inflow and EMC, where expertise in Unix, Storage Engineering, and product support was developed. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and a Diploma in Quality Management Lean Systems from the University of Limerick.
