Bernhard Bretis

Bernhard Bretis is a Principal Geologist at Equinor since April 2023, bringing over a decade of experience from OMV where roles included Senior Geologist in both the Norwegian and Barents Seas, as well as various exploration positions requiring expertise in geological evaluations, prospect maturation, and regional G&G work. Engaging in management of exploration licenses and contractor studies, Bernhard has contributed to significant geological projects, including play fairway analyses and regional prospectivity studies. Prior to OMV, Bernhard held a position as a Structural Geologist at Universität Wien, focusing on tectonic modeling in NE Iran, and earned a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Vienna.
