Floris Elzinga obtained a PhD in abstract mathematics in the summer of 2022 and currently works as a software developer and Senior Digital Analyst at Equinor. In this role, they focus on anomaly detection in rotating machines, energy yield assessment for early-phase wind farm designs, and augmenting wind forecasts with nearby measurements. Previously, they were a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Oslo from 2019 to 2022. Floris completed multiple degrees at Utrecht University, including a Master of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Physics.
