Simon Barker

Simon Barker is the Lead Geologist at Equinor, specializing in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and reservoir geoscience. With a wealth of experience in deep-marine turbidite reservoirs, Simon currently leads applied research in clastic reservoir prediction and supports global exploration efforts. Previously, Simon was a Principal Geologist at BG Group and conducted academic research as a post-doc at the Turbidite Research Group at the University of Leeds. Simon holds a PhD in Deep-water Sedimentology from University College Dublin, as well as an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Derby.
